20 Horror Sequels That Were Just Announced
4. Werewolf by Night 2
One of the more intriguingly left-field projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of recent years is Werewolf by Night - the 2022 horror special directed by legendary composer Michael Giacchino, following the exploits of monster hunter-turned-werewolf Jack Russell (Gael García Bernal).
Though Werewolf by Night was a critical and viewership success on Disney+, in late 2023 Giacchino confirmed that while he had ideas for other stories, there were no immediate plans for a follow-up, much to the disappointment of many fans. And so, roughly three years passed without any sort of meaningful update on a sequel, until back in July, when Giacchino revealed that he was actively talking to Marvel about Werewolf by Night 2, and remained optimistic that it would get made soon.
While the sequel isn't immediately fast-tracked into production, it's being actively worked on by Giacchino and Disney, which is a far more encouraging update than most surely expected.
