20 Horror Sequels That Were Just Announced

Now, in total fairness, a seventh Insidious film hasn't been officially announced yet, but its existence was always a foregone conclusion if the recently released sixth film, Insidious: Out of the Further, turned out to be a commercial success.

In addition to scoring not-bad reviews for the series' admittedly lax standards, Out of the Further has indeed already sailed far past the $100 million mark at the box office on a budget of just $18 million, and should make considerably more before its run is over.

Basically, Insidious is a money-printing machine for Sony and Blumhouse, so there's virtually zero chance that the cash cow stops being milked while the returns are still this strong, critics be-damned. And so, expect Insidious 7 to be officially announced sometime in the coming months, with it likely being fast-tracked for release within the next three-or-so years, because anything less would be leaving a whole ton of money on the table.
