Hollywood obviously doesn't want to hear it, but sometimes it's OK for franchises to just... end. Hence why a fifth entry into the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes franchise is on the way.

The original 1978 horror parody spawned three sequels in 1988, 1991, and 1992, after which it seemed like the IP had basically been put to bed for good. But last year, it was announced that a reboot was already in production: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence.

More to the point, the great John Astin - who appeared in the three previous films as Professor Mortimer Gangreen - will be reprising his role once more at the grand age of 95.

Even with legacy horror sequels and "requels" being all the rage right now, how many people in the world have been actively jonesing for a new Attack of the Killer Tomatoes? And yet, this wildly late-to-the-party entry has already had its premiere and is currently awaiting general release.
