20 Worst Endings In Recent Horror Movies

15. Hell House LLC: Lineage

Shudder

Hell House LLC: Lineage was hyped up as the final entry into the cult found footage franchise, and so the assumption was that it would provide fans with some sort of closure to the ongoing story.

Uh, about that.

The film reunites audiences with Vanessa Shepard (Elizabeth Vermilyea), the protagonist of Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, who continues to be tormented by the town of Abaddon all while bodies keep piling up around her.

Despite Vanessa's concerted efforts to end the curse linked to both the Abaddon Hotel and the Carmichael Manor, Lineage concludes with the curse still ongoing, before a final scene reveals that Vanessa's twin brother Mitchell, who she believed to have died in childbirth, is actually still alive.

Now, it's fair to say that Lineage isn't a very good movie from top to bottom, but framing it as the end of the franchise only to offer up a blatant sequel-baiting cliffhanger was always going to piss people off.
