Another 90's alternative act that just kind of up and disappeared, Faith No More were an extremely musically-talented group, led by a propulsive rhythm section and vocalist Mike Patton's operatic tenor. That doesn't sound like a recipe for a great rock band, but they did pretty well. However, if all you know is their one megahit "Epic", you need to dig a little deeper into their catalog. Albums like "King For a Day, Fool for a Lifetime", and "Album of the Year" are dense, saw-toothed masterpieces. When they broke up in 1998, they did it with little notice, merely sending out an email statement. They did come together for a short tour in 2012, but recorded nothing new. Patton has stayed busy with his numerous side projects; first Mr. Bungle, then Tomahawk, Fantomas, and all sorts of classical solo work - some even in different languages - but all weird. Maybe he would look to simplify things a bit, and get back to straight-up(mostly) rock with Faith No More.
