10 Bafflingly Terrible Songs That Were Somehow Incredibly Successful

3. Las Ketchup €“- The Ketchup Song

One of the best-selling singles of all time is about €“ you guessed it €“ a condiment. The Ketchup Song is the English title of the song Asereje, released by the Spanish pop group Las Ketchup in 2002.

The thing that makes the song so terrible is that its amount of nonsensicalness is utterly relentless. Fair enough not understanding lyrics that are in a foreign language, but the chorus is performed in a language that's referred to as merely €œreminiscent of Spanish€. Not only that, but the song was also the subject of incredible controversy due to rumours that the nonsense lyrics are Satantic and praising Lucifer. They are, after all, both red...

If that's not enough for you, the song also exists in three versions: Spanish, a mixture of Spanish and English (described as Spanglish) and also Portuguese. Thanks for the choice, I guess?
