10 Band Members That Overshadowed The Singer

8. Travis Barker - Blink-182

There was never a single moment throughout the '00s where you had to take Blink 182 seriously. As much as they shifted their sound towards more mature rock and roll, the attitude that every member had onstage was impossible to turn away from, especially when they went into their joke songs about sex. So when you have both Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge at the front, how the hell is the quiet guy in the back the one that gets all of the attention?

Without saying a word throughout most of Blink's career, Travis Barker has been the main attraction every time you see the band live, going for broke on every song and bashing the snot out of his drums until they're begging for mercy. Even as Blink continues without Tom in the mix, Travis is still one of the most memorable drummers of his generation, never seeming to break a sweat as he tears through complex rhythms that are way above the usual paygrade for pop punk.

It also helps that he hasn't let Blink be his primary outlet anymore, contributing tons of music to remixes and collaborating with everyone from Machine Gun Kelly to Willow Smith as part of the pop punk renaissance going on in the past few years. It might look like he's overextending himself, but none of these projects ever feel phoned in on his part. Travis is still here for all the right reasons, and he's just making music with his friends because that passion is still there.
