10 Best Debut Rock Albums Of The 1980s

6. Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! - Megadeth

In 1983, after months of infighting and reported aggressive behaviour towards his fellow bandmates, Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. And that was the end of that.

Oh wait, there's more.

Eager to prove his worth, Mustaine formed his own band with an even more metal name. Thus, Megadeth was born.

Three years after getting dumped out of one band, Mustaine rose again with a new one, releasing their debut album into the world. Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! may have an utterly absurd title, but it's a vital part of the evolution of the thrash metal genre.

Whilst it might lack some of the more melodic elements of its contemporaries, the album is rawer, more powerful, and more animalistic in the best way possible. Mustaine is a fantastic guitar player and gets more than enough time to shine on this disc.

The whole thing is over and done with in just over half an hour, but it still flies by at a blistering pace. Killing etc. etc. is one of the great 80s thrash metal releases and we all have Mustaine's spite to thank for that.
