10 Best Hard Rock Bands Not In The Hall Of Fame

1. Motörhead

Been Eligible Since: 2002

Between their formation in 1975 and the passing of singer, bassist and overall rock legend "Lemmy" Kilmister in 2015, Motörhead were able to release 22 studio albums that combined elements of rock, punk and heavy metal that combined to form a unique and aggressive sound.

Easily identified by the front man's growling vocals and the thundering distorted bass tones, Motörhead has been cited as an influence by Metallica, Slipknot and Napalm Death, to name a few. Touring non-stop for the entirety of their 40 year career, Motörhead were able to display levels of energy that were able to inspire legions of different bands from a wide variety of genres and musical backgrounds.

The fact that Motörhead have not been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nothing short of criminal. The sheer number and quality of the albums that the band produced over four decades is a feat that very few other bands have accomplished before or since. The band has achieved legendary status from fans of all kinds of different sub-genres of rock, and it seems that the only recognition that they have left to receive is that from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

For an institute that claims to recognise a number of different influential bands, the Hall of Fame seems to have a startling number of noticeable omissions. Hopefully, these will be fixed sooner rather than later...
