Denzel Curry is a wild man, the type of MC who leaps out of your speakers with gusto, latches onto your throat with fangs bearing, and doesn’t let go until the music stops.

“Imperial”, like much of his back catalogue, is hard, hungry, and in-your-face. Curry spits with real venom throughout, utilising his considerable vocal talents over trap-based production that shifts seamlessly from loud and booming to smooth and slick, sometimes within the same track.

Curry’s not just a spitter, though: his hooks get catchier and catchier with every new project, and “Imperial” is full of catchy little earworms. Tracks like “ULT” snag you with their choruses, ensnare you with top tier production, and drag you in with Denzel’s relentless delivery.
