10 Best Rock Bands With Only Two Members

3. The Black Keys

After two acts of unconventional rock music, these guys are bringing the genre back to its roots.

Guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney were childhood neighbours in the city of Akron, Ohio, meeting each other for the first time when they were eight or nine years old.

They eventually got round to playing music together, initially refusing to go mainstream in order to focus on keeping their music as pure as possible. However, the allure of fame eventually won them over, and their immense talents were soon unleashed onto the world.

From their sixth album, Brothers, and onwards, The Black Keys have been one of the most revered names in modern rock history. Auerbach's blues-infused guitar style and Carney's soulful, down-to-earth drumming have created some modern classics that, had they been recorded 70 years ago, would undoubtedly be part of the great American songbook.

Even though they are now very famous and very rich, The Black Keys have always tried to keep their music as honest as possible. Through their dedication and unbridled musical skill, they have kept the blues alive for future generations to enjoy.
