10 Best Rock Bands With Only Two Members

2. The White Stripes

Another band who took the blues and made it their own were seminal garage rock icons (and one-time brother and sister) Jack and Meg White, also known as The White Stripes.

Thanks to Jack's experimental guitar work and other-worldly vocals, and Meg's thoroughly underrated drumming, The White Stripes set themselves out from everyone else at the time. Regardless of whether they were your favourite band or not, it was always worth checking out what they were going to do next, as it was bound to be interesting.

From the lo-fi goodness of their early albums, to the commercial breakthrough of records like Elephant and Get Behind Me Satan, to their final salvo of Icky Thump, this duo were always willing to try something new and, most of the time, it paid off.

Fell in Love with a Girl, The Hardest Button to Button, Blue Orchid, Seven Nation Army, Icky Thump, the list of great White Stripes songs goes on and on, to the point where it's actually astonishing that they only got round to making six albums.

They may have only been with us for a brief while, but their flame burned White hot.
