10 Best Rock Music Collaborations Of The 1980s

9. Lita Ford & Ozzy Osbourne - Close My Eyes Forever

Ozzy Osbourne might not be your go-to when you think of cheesy power ballads, but that's exactly what he did back in 1988.

The story goes that Osbourne was hanging out with Lita Ford (formerly of The Runaways) when the pair got hammered. Naturally, this was Ozzy in the 80s. The pair started writing lyrics to a song in their drunken haze. The next morning, not wanting to waste their efforts, they decided to record it.

Close My Eyes Forever was the end result; a super schmaltzy love song that was very out of character for both artists. The public didn't seem to mind it though, as it stormed its way into the US Billboard top 10.

This remains both performers' best ever chart performance.

Whilst neither singers' voice is totally suited to this genre, they more than make up for that with the energy they bring to this song. Both Osbourne and Ford sing their little glam metal hearts out on this one, which definitely helps carry it over the line.

The fact that this song exists at all is utterly delightful; everything else is just a bonus.
