10 Best Songs By The Who

8. The Kids Are Alright - My Generation

Appearing on The Who's debut album, The Kids Are Alright is a fine example of the group's leanings into the Mod subculture of the 1960's, and has become heavily associated with the scene as a whole.

Telling the story of a night at a nightclub, the song is a memorable addition to the My Generation album, with Pete Townshend's songwriting abilities shining through here to create memorable hooks that has cemented the legacy of the song, as well as the band, firmly in the roots of the Mod scene.

With every member of the band being on top form, The Kids Are Alright is a highlight of The Who's early work, and has been referenced in dozens of other songs and TV shows for decades, further proving its merit. If the kids keep playing this well, then they'll definitely be alright...
