The Scissor Sisters' version of Comfortably Numb is not one of those instances. In fact with their version of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb, rather than stripping it back it seems like the Scissor Sisters took an "everything but the kitchen sink" approach by reworking the song into a disco-influenced dance track that you can't help but single along with. A million miles from the rock-based original recording, the Scissor Sisters cover sounds like it's straight from Studio 54, with influences from Donna Summer and the Bee Gees clearly audible. It might not be to everybody's tastes, and certainly might not be a favourite amongst Pink Floyd fans, but we challenge anyone not to want to dance by the time they're done listening to the Scissor Sisters' reworking of Comfortably Numb.
