Death Cab for Cutie, led by frontman Benjamin Gibbard, has been around for as long as previous entry Mike Shinoda. Beginning in 1997, Death Cab has released nine studio albums and has gained a loyal following.
Combining poetry and guitar-driven melodies, Death Cab is a band that definitely deserves more attention than they've gotten over the years. They enjoyed some mainstream success with their 2005 album, 'Plans', with the hit single 'I Will Follow You Into The Dark,' a tale Gibbard had written about a love interest he had.
Despite being an older band, Death Cab is still bursting with energy and a willingness to up their game for every single album they release. Their most recent album, 'Thank You For Today', takes on more electro-pop styles with their classic six-string/piano melodies. Whether it be their emo-oriented 'Transatlanticism', their love-inspired 'Plans', or the heartbreak-poisoned 'Narrow Stairs', Death Cab for Cutie is a band that shouldn't be slept on.
