On the list of bands you wouldn't expect to have an animated music video, Radiohead are certainly up there, especially not one so bright and colourful. Yet Paranoid Android – released as a single from 1997's OK Computer – certainly does.

Front man Thom Yorke admits that the reason for making Paranoid Android so kaleidoscopic was that it went against expectation, and also because the song itself was fun to write and record, and so they wanted to reflect that experience through the video. To achieve this, Swedish animator Magnus Carlsson was commissioned to create the video, which features a character named Robin and his friend Benjamin.

Throughout the video Robin and Benjamin meet a host of shady people, including a prostitute, a drug addict, EU representatives, mermaids and an angel. There's obviously a bit of a political commentary at work, but there's also a lot of random, bizarre humour too, which gives the video a sense of mystery and intrigue.
