10 Greatest Hard Rock Songs Of 2020

3. I Hate How Much I Want You - The Struts

Most fans of classic rock don't really need to be introduced to the Struts. Ever since their debut back in the early 2010's, these guys have been making a strong impression on the rock charts as one of the greatest '70s bands that never existed. Though they certainly picked an apt title for their album Strange Days, they really found their hutzpah again when they teamed up with one of their arena rock heroes.

Complete with a recording of the phone call announcing the song, I Hate How Much I Want You is an amazing cross-generational duet with Phil Collen and Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. Though this is still a Struts song through and through, you can definitely tell that the signature Leppard energy rubbed off here, with a chorus that sounds like it's meant to be played in stadiums all around the world.

Compared to the more obvious plagiarisms that you see from acts like Greta Van Fleet, this is the perfect kind of classic rock combination you can ask for, as Luke Spiller's voice fits nicely in between the croon of Freddie Mercury and the raw bark of Bon Scott. This relationship on this track may be dysfunctional as hell, but if it results in music this good, it's not hard to see why they keep coming back for more.
