10 Incredible Rock Singers Who Were In TWO Great Bands

6. Mike Patton - Faith No More/Mr. Bungle/Fantomas

Faith No More are easily one of the most underrated acts in the world of hard rock. With their signature blend of funk and rock, the band created a new sound that set the precedent for the nu metal genre a few years down the line. While each member brought their own unique twist to the group, Mike Patton was always the clear musical genius amongst them all.

Though Patton's main outfit tackled musical styles that had never been touched before, his musical vision loomed much larger than just one alt-rock group. In addition to his main gig, Patton's work in Mr. Bungle was even more adventurous, with songs that sound like Captain Beefheart filtered through the funky grooves of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Aside from both of these acts, Patton has even created an off-the-wall supergroup with Fantomas, where he works alongside grunge rock icon Buzz Osbourne and Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo. As opposed to his other outfits, Fantomas is a bit more avant garde, with one album incorporating more outlandish renditions of classic movie scores.

Across all these different groups, Patton has proved himself to be one of the most eccentric musicians still working in the alternative scene today.
