The fact that Katy Perry was still touring the globe in support of her 2013 album, Prism, as recently as October of 2015 is a testament to the scope and epic nature of a Katy Perry album. Her albums tend to feature now fewer than three dozen hit singles, which means she gets to really stretch out the promotion. We should expect nothing less from her new album, which her manager says will "be due" out in 2016 which, granted, sounds like a contractual obligation more than a promise of a creative spark, but we should have no doubts that the woman with an army of writers and producers (and some genuine talent and imagination to boot) will be able to repeat the success of Prism and Teenage Dream. So get excited for a plethora of perfectly-crafted pop gems to hit the radio next year. And for many years after that.
