10 Most Anticipated Rock And Metal Albums Of 2017

1. Tool

It has to be this year, right? It HAS to be. Tool have been teasing us and taunting us and trolling us for over a decade now, and surely it has to stop now. 2016 was a god-awful year for so many reasons, and the only way to make 2017 worth living in is a new Tool album. We’ve been sat here waiting patiently since the release of 10,000 Days back in 2006, and enough is enough.

Last year it felt like every week there was another story or update from people associated with the Tool camp, saying that the new material sounds great and that the album is done, so where the hell is it? Meshuggah’s Mårten Hagström says he’s heard the demos and that it’s Tool’s “best” music to date, and that was back in October.

Of course, it doesn’t help that frontman Maynard James Keenan recently announced the reformation of his other band A Perfect Circle for a tour and a potential album - it’s like he’ll do literally anything to release the next Tool album. Although, if internet conspiracy theorists are to be believed, it’s actually on the web somewhere under another name and nobody has noticed. So who knows?!

Luke Morton hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
