10 Most Hated Albums In Rock Music History

6. Into the Unknown - Bad Religion

There have been many different artists who have gone through imposter syndrome at one point or another. No matter how much faith you might have in your own work, there's always that one side of your brain that's convinced that it's not really that great and people are just saying it's alright to be nice. That leads to change in direction, change in direction leads to different genres, and different genres leads to one of the most singularly weird albums put out by a punk band.

Convinced that their debut album was a fluke, Greg Graffin and Brett Guerwitz were adamant on changing the sound of Bad Religion, which led to them going into the world of prog rock on Into the Unknown. Listening to this right after something like How Could Hell Be Any Worse? might make your head explode, with songs like A Million Days and Losing Generation sounding closer to cheesy '80s TV than something that you'd actually seek out.

Though this album is already considered a failure across the board, a lot of the hatred directed towards this album has been through Greg and Brett, who have remastered every album in Bad Religion's catalog except for this one. There's not liking the direction of an album, but it's a whole different conversation when you basically refuse to even acknowledge its existence.
