10 Most Overrated Rock Albums Of The 2000s

8. Razorlight - Razorlight (2006)

In the 2000s, pop punk swept across America in a tidal wave of dye jobs and three quarter length pants. In the UK, the reining fad was indie rock. That meant tight jeans, white plimsoles, straight fringes and jaunty indie bops - that tried oh-so-hard to be insightful.

Razorlight's frontman, Johnny Borrell, presented himself as the new singer song writer of his generation; he wrote a few catchy numbers, Golden Touch, America, In The Morning - with the later two appearing on their second record. But the group's music never had the depth that the frontman strove so vehemently to convince his audience of.

The hype that surrounded several radio-savvy pop songs, carried this album for a few years, but ultimately the interest died away. Some music works at a certain time and place ,and Razorlight are a band that epitomised this sentiment - this album served a purpose, but that purpose died with the end of the noughties.

No doubt you've fondly revisited some of their bigger songs over the years, but it's doubtful you've dedicated a whole 34 minutes and 37 seconds to sit through this record again.
