10 Most Savage Rock And Metal Diss Tracks Of All Time
5. Aesthetics Of Hate - Machine Head
When it comes to media drama, a lot of it should come to a halt when someone has died. Regardless of whatever feelings you may have at the time, it's in real bad taste for someone to dunk on a musician after they have passed away, especially since they aren't there to defend themselves anymore. And when someone took a shot at one of the greatest guitar players in metal history, Robb Flynn got his teeth out on Aesthetics of Hate.
Around the time that they were working on the record, Flynn had caught wind of a journalist for a metal magazine heavily criticizing the work of Dimebag Darrell, with a few too many petty jabs mixed in there for good measure. Yeah, when you say that kind of stuff only a few years removed from Dime being tragically gunned down onstage, Flynn wasn't going to hold anything back, going for the throat from the minute that he opens his mouth.
While he claims that he's singing this song out of love for his brother, Flynn is beyond pissed on this track, saying that there is no excuse for something like this and that this journalist should burn in hell for what he said. Though this might just be a lot of raw wounds going on in song at this point, it doesn't lose any of its teeth in the process.
