10 Music Videos Scarier Than Horror Movies

7. The Prodigy - Breathe

The second single released from their third studio album, The Fat of the Land, Breathe is a 1996 hit from the Essex-based band The Prodigy. It is easily one of the most recognisable songs by The Prodigy in the electronic dance world, topping the UK singles board as well as various charts across central Europe, though its music video has lived on in infamy for being one of the strangest and creepy videos to have emerged from the '90s.

Directed by Walter Stern, the video is set in a derelict building and sees the band's members, who are already looking like they're ready for a big role in a horror movie, experiencing some pretty vivid hallucinations.

Wild animals are the big recurring theme of the video, with everything from rats, crocodiles and even crickets all getting up close and personal with the band.

The video won the 1997 MTV Music Video Music Award, but there's just something chilling about a group like The Prodigy, with all their wacky hairstyles, piercings and tattoos staring down the barrel of the camera that never fails to send a chill down a viewer's spine.
