10 Music Videos Scarier Than Horror Movies

6. Bats For Lashes - What's A Girl To Do?

Released in July 2007 as the fourth single for the critically acclaimed album Fur and Gold, What's A Girl To Do? is an ethereal and creepy addition to the Bats for Lashes collection.

With the eerie piano keys, booming drum pattern and singer Natasha Khan kicking things off with a monotone delivery, What's A Girl To Do? opens up in a deep dark forest with Bats For Lashes riding a bicycle, the most horror movie-esque vehicle, at the camera.

She is then suddenly flanked by four other cyclists, suited up with large animal heads that end up resembling some slasher foes as she continues to trek deeper into the forest.

The video continues on with Bats For Lashes cycling past all the horror staples: wreckages of car crashes, smokescreens, creepy looking figures holding balloons in the forest, and even a couple of ghosts splattered in the distance.

The whole feeling of going on a journey deep in the haunted woods sounds like a proper back-to-basics premise for a New Line horror flick, the already eerie music totally sells the atmosphere that's present, and there's even time for homages to both classic slashers as well as more Blair Witch-esque paranormal flicks.
