10 Musicians That Were Kicked Out Of Their Own Band

3. Joey Jordison - Slipknot

As far as the lineup of Slipknot is concerned, it's hard to really consider someone like Corey Taylor to be an afterthought. Although his shout is one of the greatest that modern metal has to offer, Taylor's drafting in period was done at the very last second, with Slipknot's demo already being made before entering the fold. Whereas Clown might get credit for being the ethos behind Slipknot, Joey Jordison was always the beating heart.

Compared to the usual system of writing, Joey was always the creative force behind the rhythmic structure, causing Clown to step out from behind the kit to let him take over in his place. Going from one album to the next though, things started to get a lot more fractured in the studio, with Joey tracking almost all of his drums without the rest of the band in the studio for All Hope is Gone.

Aside from dealing with the tragic passing of bassist Paul Gray shortly after completing the record, Jordison was dealt another heavy blow when it was announced that he was being let go after forming the idea of the band way back in the late '90s. While it doesn't look like Jordison holds any ill will towards the 9 anymore, there are still some Maggots that are aching to hear the original #1 return to the fold for at least one show.
