10 Pop-Princesses Who Actually Had Something Worthwhile To Say

1. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato surprised everyone when she revealed that she had spent time in rehab for her eating disorder, substance abuse and bipolar disorder, but it came as even more of a surprise when she agreed to openly talk about it to help other young girls in her position. After a long stint in rehab in 2010, Demi finally came forward to talk about her struggles in an interview on American morning television. In the interview, Demi spoke about how she has had an unhealthy relationship with food since childhood and that after many years of being bullied at school, she started to self-harm but is now on the road to recovery. Demi's openness comes from her belief that if she can get through to just one person, then she has done her job. In July 2013 Demi set up the Lovato Treatment Scholarship, a programme which will help to pay for treatment for those struggling with mental health or addiction problems. In spite of much negative criticism for coming out so openly about her issues, her role as a mental health spokesperson is a step in the right direction for those struggling with similar problems and Demi definitely has something worthwhile to say in this area.
