10 Rock Artists That Had Hit Singles Over A Decade Apart
1. Ringo Starr - 36 Years
George Harrison has appeared on this list already with 15 years between hit singles.
John Lennon's longest gap was also 15 years and was also posthumous, whilst Paul McCartney's appearance on Kanye West's and Rihann's FourFiveSeconds gave him his first US top ten single in 30 years.
However, that all pales in comparison to the 36 years between Ringo's Starr's last two UK top ten singles.
The first was 1973's You're Sixteen, a version of the Sherman Brothers song included on Ringo's self-titled third album (the best one). Then, for almost four decades, he waited, until help came along in the form of a little blue train.
In his capacity as the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine, Ringo appeared on the BBC's Official Children in Need Medley in 2009, alongside a whole host of other famous cartoon characters.
With the likes of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, Bob the Builder, and Postman Pat, Starr went to the number one spot in the UK charts for the first time since his days as a Beatle, creating a remarkable statistic and raising money for a good cause in one fell swoop.
Ringo's just the best.
