10 Rock Artists Who Have Released A Ridiculous Number Of Albums
4. B. B. King - 43
The fact that legendary blues guitarist B. B. King released 43 albums in his lifetime is impressive when you consider that they weren't even really a thing when he first broke into music.
King's first single came out in 1949, when the idea of a long playing record was still very much a dream. It wasn't until 1956' Singin' the Blues that the icon was able to fully embrace the format.
Over 52 years, King put out 43 different collections. He proved that he still had it right up until the end, with his final album One Kind Favour winning a Grammy in 2009.
Not bad for someone in their early 80s.
The man's singles discography still dwarfed his album output, with King's name going on 138 different ones. And that's not counting his work collaborating with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, and Tony Bennett.
There was also that time he played with Barack Obama, but that definitely doesn't count.
B. B. King helped pave the way for so much of the music we enjoy today, so it's only fair that he got to enjoy such a long and fruitful career.
