10 Rock Music Collaborations No One Could Have Predicted

2. Suicide Silence & Chad Grey

While deathcore for the longest time was considered the worst thing in metal during the late 2000s, few bands took the mantle to make it legitimate to purists quite like Suicide Silence.

With Mitch Lucker at the helm, the California quintet fully understood what the "deathcore" moniker meant; heavy, chugging hardcore interspersed with some melody, married to crushing death metal brutality. This meteoric rise from the first three albums meant Lucker's passing in 2012 hurt all the more.

The remaining members of Suicide Silence banded together for a support show to pay tribute to their former vocalist and to raise funds for his daughter Kenadee. Performers for the 'Ending Is the Beginning' concert included various friends and peers Lucker had made over the years, including Jonny Davy, Danny Worsnop, Max Cavalera, Robb Flynn, Eddie Hermida and even Chad Gray.

While Cavalera and Fynn remain a bit left of field compared to everybody else, the inclusion of Hellyeah and former Mudvayne vocalist Gray forced a double-take to those watching the show.

Holding his own though, Gray performed the track "F*ck Everything" from SS' appropriately nu metal-tinged third album The Black Crown to a good reception from those in attendance.
