10 Songs That Got Stuff Completely Wrong
6. Comfortable Freestyle - Rick Ross
Most rappers take pride in their ability to freestyle over a beat. As much as artists like Kendrick Lamar manage to put real poetry into their flows, the ability to just make up rhymes off the cuff is becoming somewhat of a lost art in the hip hop community these days. While Comfortable Freestyle aims for that kind of thing, freestyling also leads to crash and burns a lot more often than you realize.
During most of the verses, Rick Ross seems to get by okay, with most of his braggadocios rhymes going over pretty well compared to what we're used to. Though when he tries to intone about how famous he is, his rhyme of "google me, Expedia" is still one of the most unintentionally hilarious lines for anyone who has been on the Internet for more than two days.
It's clear that Ross is trying to say that he's famous and can be googled easily, but the call out to one of the more high end vacation websites feels more like a mental typo than anything else. While Wikipedia would have worked just as well there, having too many syllables in rap just leads to working with what you have. Though you can tell Rick Ross is indeed comfortable in his own skin, that doesn't mean that you have to give up the rhyme scheme too.
