10 Terrible Rock Songs By Legendary Rock Bands
4. Seamus - Pink Floyd
All the roads that Pink Floyd were taking in the early '70s were leading to something like Meddle later down the line. From this point on, a song like Echoes was the blueprint for what the band would sound like in the future, going for vast soundscapes and putting you in a completely different universe every time you put on your headphones. Though this may have been the start of their classic period, not all of the bugs had been ironed out just yet.
Just before we get to that amazing final track, we have to sit through Seamus, where the dog has officially been let out of the cage...quite literally. When the band were tracking the song in the studio, they were actually dogsitting for one of their musician friends and thought it might be a good idea to actually let the mutt listen to some of the music they were recording.
Hooking up the pup's reactions to the music, you'll be listening to this nice bluesy jam and then get distracted the minute that you hear the dog barking every now and again. Considering the rest of the song is pretty decent, this feels like an experiment that sounded decent on paper but didn't work in practice. Then again, even if it can be a little bit distracting, it's nice to know that at least the doggy actually liked it.
