10 Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of The 1990s

8. Nine Lives - Aerosmith

The Spaghetti Incident Guns N Roses
Columbia

When people think of Aerosmith in the 90s it tends to be for one of two things. Their hugely successful debut of the decade, Get A Grip, featured many of their classics, while the band found a renewed popularity with the single 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' off the back of the film Armageddon in 1998.

Nine Lives falls in between the two with less fanfare, but it's still a very solid effort. There's a lot of sass in the album and Steven Tyler's vocals remain on point as ever on tracks such as 'Pink', while 'Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees)' is a great anthem of a track that starts to bring in some some classic rock n roll elements. 'Taste Of India' has some great driving riffs on it, while 'Hole In My Sole' is an underrated power ballad with some racy lyrics.

It's quite a varied album, but one that really works.
