10 Upcoming Heavy Metal Albums That Have Us Excited
6. This Is How The World Ends - Badflower
Date: September 24th
There's a reason why many bands decide to get heavier with age. As much as you might find it fun to go the hard rock route, there's only so much you can do with it before you start becoming a generic blues band that people forget about once the car commercial ends. Just when you thought that the genre would be out of gas though, Badflower is actually doing something a lot more sinister.
Whereas you can see the parallels to the sleazier side of bands like Guns N Roses in the mix, these kids are out for blood and are looking to get a lot more visceral on This is How the World Ends. Considering their debut record already had songs like Daddy and Heroin sprinkled into the mix, it almost feels like they could be tapping into darker material that we haven't seen since the likes of Alice in Chains back in the '90s.
And once things end up opening in full, you're seriously going to want to catch that live show as well. Seriously, Josh Katz is a damn superstar who puts some of the best in the scene to shame. Even though some rock stars are resting on their laurels right now, Badflower is a band that's going to make them want to up their game.
