12 Unbelievably Underrated Beatles Tracks

4. Long, Long, Long (The Beatles "The White Album")

It is crazy that so many people are unaware of this song. Not only is it one of the most beautiful things George Harrison has ever written but it is also technically astounding.

One major reason for its lack of praise is down to where it is placed in the album. Stuck between the blistering scratchy guitars of "Helter Skelter" and the bluesy protest song of "Revolution 1" the song had no chance from the very beginning.

The volume of the track also contributes to its awkwardness. It's extremely quiet, to the point where you keep turning it up to try and figure out what's going on. Suddenly, the song bursts into its booming chorus which is then amplified by the earlier increase of the volume. The change in sounds then creates a somber and spooky atmosphere to the track which merges well with Harrison's interest in spirituality but also puts a lot of people off.

"Long, Long, Long" just needs to be given a chance. It is basically a representation of George Harrison also known as the quiet Beatle. It's a quiet song for a quiet author and a piece of music that will leave you in a state of quiet reflection.
