15 Facts You Didn't Know About Blink-182
6. Travis Barker Had To Fight For Writing Credits On Enema Of The State
Travis Barker was extremely influential in changing the sound of blink-182 between Dude Ranch to Enema of the State when he joined, however a year and a half into his time with the band and he was still only being paid as a touring musician.
Barker believed that if a musician placed input into a song at all - whether it was by adding a drum fill or helping to write a bridge - they should be credited as a writer, and he's right. By the time the band came to write Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, Barker was insistent that something had to change.
He told DeLonge and Hoppus that unless he was given full writing credit, he was going to let them do it all themselves and then come in like a session musician and just play his own parts.
Clearly the other two members realised just how important Barker was to the trio and ever since he's been a credited writer with blink-182.
