They often premiere tracks early to diehards of the band, they dedicate cover songs to them, and they admit that their fans get them in ways that no-one else ever could. "We encourage our fans to try and think differently", says Corey. This is a band whose music is absolutely tied in with fan response and interest. They wouldn't have it any other way. They believe that metal fans are some of the "smartest people in the world", and that they sadly aren't given enough credit in the world more widely. But they have a solution, which all Stone Sour fans should take to heart: "Do what you do and mean it every second of the day. If you don't, you're living someone else's life."
