8. Conway - La Máquina
La Máquina’s artwork is, like Conway himself, serenely
confident. It’s not an artwork that ostentatiously throws its originality in
your face or tries too much to be everything at once. It is one of the wittiest
visual representations of hip hop’s everlasting mantra of getting rich through
music, but the sober colours and deft design mean you have to look twice to get
the double entendre. It’s just standing there, being great, waiting for you to
notice it. Again, just like Conway.
