20 Greatest Electronic Music Albums Of All Time

15. Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place

With album titles like Far Away Trains Passing By and A Strangely Isolated Place, it's easy to guess what particular brand of electronica German-born producer Ulrich Schnauss is renowned for - this is laid back synthscapes at their best; dreamy, timeless and capable of transporting you to, well, a strangely isolated place. Anyone who has played Tiger Woods PGA Tour will be familiar with Monday Paracetomol, although the mood evoked is perhaps closer to the one suggested by the title than a round on the links - like much of the album it's a hazy tune, rich in details which layer on top of one another building to a crescendo rush of chills coursing through your body. The perfect antidote to a heavy weekend.
