2020 Grammy Awards: Predicting The Biggest Winners
1. Album Of The Year
Nominees: 'I,I' - Bon Iver, 'Norman F***ing Rockwell' - Lana Del Rey, 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' - Billie Eilish, 'Thank U, Next?' - Ariana Grande, 'I Used To Know Her' - H.E.R., 7 - Lil Nas X, Cuz I Love You (Deluxe) - Lizzo, Father Of The Bride - Vampire Weekend
Album Of The Year is Billie Eilish's race to lose. It's just that simple.
The Recording Academy is not going to miss an opportunity to award someone who's had such a strong effect on both music and culture alike this past year. Eilish has been praised by everyone from Dave Grohl to Julia Roberts, and January 26th will be the academy's turn to join the party.
Obviously, Eilish isn't the only strong contender though. Lizzo had an exceptional year, and so did Lil Nas X. They both had defining moments of their own, and should still be considered strong contenders.
Lana Del Rey's 'Norman F***ing Rockwell' has also received some buzz, and Ariana Grande continues to be a premier pop star, but both are dark horse contenders at best despite the Grammy's tendency to surprise when picking the Album Of The Year.
There just isn't room for any surprises to emerge when someone poised to dominant pop music for years to come is nominated. None of those four will spoil what should be Billie Eilish's crowning moment at the 2020 Grammys.
Winner: 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' - Billie Eilish
