11. Traditional Musicians Don't Take You Seriously
Sadly, the guitar is often treated as the light option when it comes to playing a musical instrument. Some musicians will express surprise that you can play something more than a few chords, and often theres shock that guitarists can take exams for grades(!). Obviously these people are morons, but it can be a little grating when they talk about theory tests and assume you have no idea what they are. Lets be honest, though. Even if you dont follow the traditional grades route when learning to play, it doesnt make you any less of a musician. Others might swan off to orchestra while you go to band, but not everybody in orchestra can be first chair so its highly likely that your work will be much more complicated than theirs. Suck on that, classicists.
