25 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums Of The Last Decade
3. Pusha T - Daytona
Pusha T's third studio album may only have about 21 minutes of music, but if we're going by the "less is more" or "quality over quantity" philosophy, then Pusha did an exceptional job on this record, because there aren't many who could pull it off what he did.
The Kanye West-produced album grabs you from the opening lines of "If You Know You Know" and doesn't let go until the album is over. Even then, it's so good and so short that it's difficult to not give it a second, third or even fourth run through. After all, it'll take just over an hour of your time to do it.
It really is the perfect example of cutting out the fluff, leaving just enough to leave the listener happy but still wanting more. Tracks like "Santeria" and "If You Know You Know" have the right mixture of cool and eerie that help it stay in your head. Pusha continues to be the best rapper when it comes to talking about cocaine and judging by his small, yet outstanding discography, he won't ever be surpassed in that realm.
However, this album also reignited his long-time beef with Drake, which had every hip-hop fan at the edge of their seats. Daytona might be the shortest album on this list, but it had a big impact on the culture.
