6 Kanye West Albums That Got Delayed (And Why)
1. Yandhi: ?
It has been over a year since Kanye announced that his ninth solo studio album, titled Yandhi, would be available on the 29th of September 2018. The announcement was rather shocking considering his five albums in five weeks stretch in May and July. Kanye had already released his album Ye, and a collaborative project with Kid Cudi called Kids See Ghosts. Plus producing for Nas, Teyana Taylor and Pusha T; it seemed Kanye had more studio time left in him.
Fans who were already aware of the games that Kanye plays, were coy on the idea of Yandhi arriving on time, despite a scheduled performance on Saturday Night Live. The worry turned out to be justified. After that infamous SNL performance, the album did not arrive. Kim Kardashian breathed life back into the hope of fans, stating that the new release date the 23rd of November and that it was "worth the wait". The same day, Kanye announced that he was going to Uganda to finish recording, arriving on the 12th of October.
After a Kids See Ghosts performance at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, Kanye tweeted out saying that the project has been delayed indefinitely. Kanye then went on to perform his Sunday Service, which seemed to represent a move away from Yandhi.
Since then, a version of the album got leaked online, including songs like 'New Body' and 'Alien'. Although most fans are happy to hear new songs off the record, the leak has possibly ensured that Yandhi may never get an official release.
