7 "Rockstars" That Kanye West Is A Bigger Rockstar Than

2. The Gallagher Brothers

There couldn’t possibly be a list of gobsh*te rock stars without featuring these tits near the top. In Oasis’ glory days in the mid-nineties, rather than rap becoming the new rock, indie had become the new pop. The Brit Awards were unrecognisable, filled with “real music” acts, the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party saw the Manic Street Preachers collecting awards alongside the Spice Girls.

In the epicenter of this whirlwind of G, D, C, Am chord structures? The mouthpiece of all mouthpieces, Liam Gallagher.

Thing is, most people quite liked Liam Gallagher and, weirdly, they still sort of do. He knew his role and he played it faultlessly. He managed to be a front man who did virtually nothing onstage, simply because his personality had become bigger than what he was singing. He assaulted paparazzi, slagged off virtually every other popular band at the time, created a rivalry that the media turned into a war with Blur and, best of all, constantly put his brother down publicly.

Now that Oasis’ time is over, Noel isn’t quite ready to let go. Every week, the NME quote him on some current event, as if his opinion on anything matters to anyone but yer da. Noel has become the mouthpiece for Oasis now that Oasis no longer exist, which should give you some clue to his relevance.

Aside from slagging off Noel Gallagher, Kanye covers all of the above with a bit of added pizzazz, partly because he's not doing it all wearing his uncle's parka. He's wrestled paparazzi, hit out not only at rivals but good friend Jay Z on a collaboration with Justin Timberlake and he's famously interrupted two award acceptances to, ah, politely offer his viewpoint.

Also, Kanye West would have NEVER made friends with Robbie Williams.
