Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best

31. Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid (1973)

Produced alongside the classic Western of the same name (which Dylan was also in), Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid feels maddeningly incomplete, with only one song - the popular and frequently covered Knockin' On Heaven's Door - feeling anything like a classic Bob Dylan tune.

The soundtrack works well with the film itself, and you can sure see Dylan trying to take his musical sounds to new heights, but between the so-so production and the almost-complete forgettability of the overall product, it's far from a must-find.
