Every Queen Album Ranked Worst To Best

6. Jazz

7th studio album (1978); UK #2; US #6

Jazz is a bit of a misnomer, as there are little to no jazz influences on the album - rumour has it that Freddie named it after a French jazz festival he loved. But Freddie himself thought album titles were irrelevant.

Leave it to Queen to give us a song as evidently sexist as Fat Bottomed Girls, and to feature dozens of naked women on bikes for the video of Bicycle Race, yet have both of these things be revered by feminists. Takes a certain kind of genius, doesn't it?

Also leave it to them to give us a song like the hedonistic anthem Don't Stop Me Now, in which Freddie fully embraces his larger-than-life persona. It was but a modest hit upon release, but is now their second most played on Spotify (below an obvious favourite), and a karaoke staple which has also been voted as the best song for driving.

Fun Tracks: All of the above; Jealousy; If You Can't Beat Them

Fun Fact: By all accounts, Jazz had the most sensational album release party of all time, complete with strippers, snake handlers, and a naked lady smoking cigarettes out of her crotch.

Renato hails from Portugal but is obsessed with the US and UK charts, because why not? He also writes books with dozens of protagonists and will be remiss if you can't remember every single one of their names.
