Fall Out Boy: Ranking Every Album From Worst To Best

7. Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend

Uprising

Although Fall Out Boy would rather be asked about those infamous leaked pictures of Pete Wentz's junk than this mini-LP, it has a rightful place in the band's lore and deserves to be accounted for in a list such as this.

No other Fall Out Boy album has pined for the sentiments of '80s pop culture as hard as this debut. To say they were wearing their hearts on their sleeves would be an understatement - they were holding their boomboxes high and practically begging John Hughes to make another movie so they could provide the soundtrack.

In between previews of the post-hardcore elements they were going to include in their next release - though 'Calm Before the Storm' appears sludgier and less screamy than it does on Take This To Your Grave - Fall Out Boy spends the majority of this disc sinking into that fluttery, New Found Glory sound.

'Pretty In Punk' is the type of lightweight pop-punk they'd soon leave in the dust, while the bass lines in 'The World's Not Waiting (For Five Tired Boys In A Broken Van)' sound copy and pasted from an early Blink-182 song.

All in all, it's more than a little derivative, but still a whole lot of fun.

Album Standout: 'Moving Pictures'
