Monstrum

Monstrum makes another entry on this list with their giant blue whale playground in Plikta Park in Gothenburg, Sweden. The playground also includes six shark and seaweed play opportunities. The design was inspired by the local Natural History Museum, which has a popular blue whale exhibit.

Children can climb onto the back of the whale, crawl through its side and even get swallowed by its mouth. Interestingly enough, the inside of the whale is painted pink, so the engulfed really feel like they’re on the inside of one of nature’s largest beasts.

The tail of the whale is a really cool lookout, rising three meters tall. Parents are also invited to climb the whale, so maybe you won’t have to feel too weird if the joy of childhood inspires you play Captain Ahab for a few minutes.
