10 Dares That Went Horribly Wrong

6. Cold Teaching

The Dare: A substitute teacher at a school in New South Wales, Australia, dared their students to hold dry ice for as long as possible. How wrong did it go? As anyone familiar with high school science will probably know, dry ice is incredibly cold. The solid substance is measured at temperatures of -78.5 °C (-109.3°F,) making it hazardous to handle without proper protection. Following the irresponsible dare, 10 year seven students suffered minor burns, taken to a local hospital for treatment. The irresponsible teacher was ruled guilty of eight counts of assault by a judge in the following court case, who claimed that, "despite his knowledge of dry ice he gave the students incorrect information about handling it."
